Sector overview
Rail structures are fatigue problems before they are strength problems. A weld that passes a static check and fails at ten million cycles has failed the customer, so our procedures target fatigue class rather than minimum strength.
Every welded structure for this sector is produced under EN 15085 CL1 discipline: qualified procedures, qualified welders, a responsible welding coordinator, and inspection coverage documented per joint.
Distortion control is the commercial issue. On bogie frames we hold flatness after welding tightly enough that finish machining removes stock rather than correcting shape.
