Off-highway programs are won and lost on cost per unit at a committed annual volume. That makes DFM the highest-value work we do here: consolidating weldments into castings, machining into net shape, and assemblies into fewer joints.
Volumes justify dedicated tooling and automation, so these programs typically run on robotic welding cells and pallet-pool machining with fixed takt.
Field failure is dominated by corrosion and fatigue at joints. Both are addressed at the process level rather than by specifying a heavier part.
