Brightwater Works

Precision machining and group headquarters

Brightwater began in 1994 as a nine-person tool room and now carries the group's tightest-tolerance work. Machining halls are held at 20 °C ± 1.0 on isolated foundations, and the horizontal pallet pool runs 112 unattended hours each week. Engineering, program management, and the group's commercial team share the building, which is deliberate: quotations are written within earshot of the machines that have to make the part.

Calder Ridge Fabrication

Heavy fabrication, weldments, and large-envelope machining

Calder Ridge exists because moving a 30-tonne weldment between suppliers is where schedule and accuracy are lost. Plate arrives at one end of the building and a machined, coated, inspected structure leaves the other, under continuous 40-tonne crane coverage. Eleven robotic welding cells carry the repeat structural programs; the coded manual welders take the work that cannot be automated. The stress relief furnace and the large-envelope machining bay sit adjacent by design, so a structure is normalized and cut in the same shift sequence.

Plant 03Established 2014

Vela Norte Assembly

Systems assembly, integration, and functional test

Vela Norte turns components into modules a customer can bolt into their machine and turn on. Cells run mixed-model against a levelled schedule, fed from a line-side supermarket rather than from bulk storage, and every torque-critical joint is driven by a transducerized tool that records against the module serial number. The clean assembly room handles vacuum and fluid-power builds where particulate is a specification. Functional test is part of the line, so a module that fails is diagnosed at the cell that built it.

Ostmark Tooling & Metrology

Tooling, EDM, and the group metrology hall

Ostmark was acquired in 2019 to bring tooling and measurement authority inside the group. Sixty-two toolmakers build the dies, fixtures, and gauges the other three plants run on, and the metrology hall — held at 20 °C ± 0.5 on a foundation isolated from the machine floor — is where the group's calibration and arbitration measurement happens. When two plants disagree about a dimension, Ostmark settles it.

Customer audits are welcome at any plant.

We schedule audits within three weeks of request. Supplier quality sends the current certification scope and the previous audit’s corrective action status ahead of the visit, so the day itself is spent on the floor rather than in a conference room.
